They're Here!

They're-Here!

Sorry I've been slow getting updates out on the wedding (you were there anyway, so you know how it went) and the honeymoon (you weren't there, I hope!), but things have been a little hectic.

Cora and Gwen (but not their stuff and no idea when that is coming exactly) arrived Thursday night.  I had to work Friday, so they spent the day unpacking their luggage, and getting Gwen registered for school.

Well, Cora did.  Gwen took my instructions to "Just relax for the day" as law, and tried watch as much "Simpsons" as she could. (We'll see how well she continues to follow what I say to the letter when it's "Clean your room.")

It's Saturday, and I have to work this afternoon from about 5:00 to midnight. Well, this is the start of "real life."

Look forward to seeing many of you over Labor Day in Kewanee.

Until I can get a proper post up about the wedding, here's a link to all my pictures (thanks to Adam & Jenny, I think they took most of them) from the wedding.

Engaging Pictures

A few weeks ago, I was out in Seattle visiting Cora and Gwen.  One of the "task" we had on the "To Do List" was meeting up with our photographer, and getting our 'Engagement Photos' taken.

While not not a traditional engagement photo session, I think you will agree that the pictures of the three of us came out very nicely.

The photos were taken at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, on the shores of Lake Washington, just down the hill from Cora's and not far from the hotel.

It was a beautiful, sunny, Friday afternoon, if a bit windy.  Some clouds were billowing up to the east, but nothing ever became of them.  We had a great time posing & preening & playing on the waterfront.

For more photos from the session <CLICK HERE>.

In other news, for those of you who reserved rooms at the hotel but FORGOT to mention that you were part of the wedding block (ie – All of you except Bob & Margaret) I have taken care of it and we should now all be located together.

I will probably be seeing many of you next weekend in Princeton, but for those of you I won't, if have any questions, email me, or post them in the comments section of this blog.

Does the countdown clock say "40 Days"?  Eeep! Better get a move on.  And get those last RSVP cards in, so we can start figuring out seating, okay?

Wedding Update

Welcome-To-Our-Wedding

Well, I have some updates for you on the wedding:

Date & Time:  Saturday, July 3rd @ 4:00 pm until about 10:00 pm.  That's PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME.  Please adjust your watches when you arrive.  I don't want anyone missing the wedding (*cough* Pat & Harold *cough*) because of confusion over when it starts.  :-)

Location:  The ceremony and the reception will be at the Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, WA.

Hotel:  I have (or will have) set aside a block of 15 rooms at the Quality Inn Renton.  The room rate is $89 + tax.  Book your rooms before June 21.  That's when any remaining rooms will be released back to the public.

Rings:  The wedding rings have been purchased, but they are still with the jewelers to get sized.

Invitations: The invitations have been ordered.  They will send us a proof before printing.

Website:  We have created a website for the wedding.  Click HERE to go to it.  It is a great source of information for all your question about the wedding.  I strongly urge you to check it out.  We will keep it updated with all sorts of information and fun things to do in the area while you're out there.

You can even RSVP (*hint*) there.

Other:

  • DJ selected.
  • Met with minister on the phone.
  • Menu chosen – Buffet – Prime Rib & Salmon.
  • Wedding dress shopping has started.
  • Tuxedo picking outing has kind of started.
  • The main wedding party is set.

And here is a quick little video I shot at the Fairwood.  It starts in the dining room, moves through to the party room, and then ends up out on the patio where the ceremony will be held.
